Therapist

Mark Rootenberg, MA

My commitment to my clients is that they can expect to feel deeply respected and understood. While I have clinical expertise, clients are the experts of their own experiences — their self-knowledge, goals, and priorities guide treatment.

My Approach

I have a foundation in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), though rather than rigidly adhering to only one mode of therapy, I adapt techniques from multiple approaches to meet the needs of each client. I aim to treat the whole person — creating a comprehensive and individualized plan to help my clients achieve their goals.

As a psychological researcher, I have a strong grounding in the scientific literature and aim to have an ever-deepening understanding of human psychology and wellbeing. I use these skills to stay current with the latest findings on how to help my clients get the most out of therapy.
